I understand that some paretns may want to wait till their children are shorlisted for interview before considering to sign up for the workshop. However, the reality is that, by the time you receive the notice from the school to inform you that your child has cleared the GAT and is shortlisted for an interview, normally it will be within a week notice during mid July to early August.
In the past few years, I received calls from parents during the interview period in July and August to request for the workshop, however, by then all our workshops would be over or fully booked. Some resorted to taking time off from school and to pay a much higher fee to request for individual coaching during the school hours.
As such, I always advice parents to send their child to the workshop early, the best time will be right after their SA1 or during the June holiday whereby they will not be as hectic as the usual time during the normal school days.
They will be in a mode that can best absorbed what is to be taught in the workshop. The DSA workshop is highly engaging and intensive. Whatever skills are taught in the workshop need to be further cultivated and developed into a habit of the child so that on the day of the acutal interview, he/she will look natural but not regurgiating model answers. We are not teaching "quick fix" in the workshop but "skills" that needs time to sharpen.
Furthermore, many students had given us feedbacks that the workshop not only helped them in their DSA interview but also in the PSLE Englsih Oral exam as the skills that they had learnt skills that boost their confidence in conversing with the examiner.
